Still Life Project Process Post

I am pretty happy with my still life progress so far. I have never done much painting, and certainly not oil painting, so this was a new experience for me. In many ways I find it similar to drawing, because the skills of looking and analyzing value are the same. However, it is newer for me to mix the paints every time rather than adding more layers of graphite. I wasn't sure what to expect from this project, but I am actually really enjoying the process. It is moving slowly as I try to perfect the shading on the coffee pot, but I do see slow results as the image develops. My next steps will be to finish the shading on the towel and to adjust the proportions of the coffee pot. I look forward to continuing the project!
