After hours of work, I have completed my still life. I am extremely happy with the result. I learned a lot through this process: from the indirect painting technique to the basic color theory involved in painting. I really enjoyed working with the paint to create sharp edges around the coffee pot and painting the reflection in the metal. I struggled with making the reflection look just right, because the images in the metal were distorted, but I am pretty happy with the result. I think this was the perfect challenge for me. In future paintings, I would like to experiment with styles, such as making the "mark" rougher and more abstract. For one of my first paintings however, and certainly my first oil painting, I am very happy with the result.
